A lo largo de tres años de estudio se han obtenido 19
contactos con el Pico Menor en 13 cuadrículas UTM de las 16 en las que se
realizaron muestreos (81,2%). Los resultados positivos corresponden a las 12 por
las que discurre el río Ebro y a 1 del río Aragón. Se han obtenido resultados
negativos en las correspondientes al río Alhama. Estos datos amplían en 9
cuadrículas UTM (un 37,5%) el área de distribución del Pico Menor en Navarra,
con lo que se alcanza un total de 33 (23,4%). En cuanto a las categorías de
reproducción, 12 cuadrículas UTM son de reproducción probable (92,3%) y 1 de
reproducción posible (7,7%).
El Pico Menor en el Ebro navarro, se distribuye de manera continua desde Viana
hasta Buñuel. En ese tramo se han localizado 19 territorios (18 en el río Ebro y
1 en el río Aragón) de los que 16 (84,2%) se encuentran en sotos y 3 en choperas
de repoblación (15,8%). Estos, junto a los conocidos en La Rioja y Aragón,
suponen, hasta ahora, un mínimo de 87 territorios y forman parte de una única
población acantonada en los bosques de ribera del río Ebro y los cursos bajos de
sus principales afluentes.

Lan hau 3 urteetan zehar eman da, eta 19 kontaktu lortu dira Okil txikiarekin
aztertutako 16 UTM kuadrikuletatik 13- tan (%81.2-a). 13 kuadrikula hauetatik,
12 Ebro ibaian zehar kokaturik daude, eta azkena Aragoi ibaian. Alhama ibaian ez
da ezer topatu. Datu hauek, Nafarroan Okil txikiaren hedapena 9 kuadrikulatan
zabaltzen du, eta beraz, guztira 33 lortzen dira (%23,4-a). Birsortzeari
dagokionez, 12 kuadrikulatan birsortzea eman daikete eta hamahirugarrenean,
posiblea da.

SUMMARY • • • The Lesser Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos minor) in the
Navarresse section of the Ebro river
Throughout three years of study, 19 observations of the Lesser Spotted
Woodpecker were made in 13 of the 16 UTM spots where samplings were conducted
(81.2%). Twelve of the positive results corresponded to areas along the river
Ebro and to 1 by the river Aragón. Negative results were obtained along the
Alhama river. This data indicates an increase in distribution of the Lesser
Spotted Woodpecker throughout Navarra. As for the categories of reproduction, 12
UTM spots are probable areas for reproduction (92.3%) and 1 is a possible area
for reproduction (7.7%). The Lesser Spotted Woodpecker in the Navarresse Ebro is
distributed in a continuous way from Viana to Buñuel. In that section, 19
territories have been located (18 along the river Ebro and 1 along the river
Aragón). Sixteen of these areas (84.2%) are found in groves and 3 in poplar
groves (15.8%). These, together with the ones already known in La Rioja and
Aragón, make a minimum of 87 territories altogether, and correspond to the
population quartered in the forest by the river Ebro and its main tributaries.
